Hi, I saw this and thought of Kathleen and others who enjoy baking their own bread; http://www.nytimes.com/2...l?_r=3&pagewanted=1
When I try it out I will report back how it comes out as it looks very interesting. It is the kneading that I am having huge trouble with now.. I am making my own cream cheese tonight and fermenting some vegetables for Mark! No wonder he hasn't arrived home yet! LOL Much love, Amanda

I miss gluten too, had a very strange journey with coeliac disease......baking bread for others is PURE HELL! LOL
I could so easily eat the spaghetti they're gobbling back now too! (it is like locusts in the kitchen...LOL)

Hi Amanda & Frankie,
I was recently given a bread machine and started making bread as I was fed-up with paying nearly £3.00 for a decent organic loaf of bread. Must say that it is great, no kneading dough it does it all for you, and have been baking bread for the rest of the family with it. I will try making a gluten free loaf and will let you know how it turns out, as although I'm not a coeliac gluten and I are not good friends; I've also read that it's not good for RA suffers too.
Love,

I have never had a bread machine because there are too many of us here, so I usually make two at a time, or three with a break every other day....
My many many attempts at GF bread are failures, it always tastes like crumbly cake which the children love but I loathe!
Love,
Amanda

Hi Amanda,
You could try getting two cheap ones on Ebay; just thinking it would be easier for you no kneading and would free up more time?

Oh I LOVE Genius bread which is my other reason for no longer attempting GF bread! It is just marvellous and worth every penny of £2.49!
I actually toast it for a sandwich which isn't as nice as actual warm toast but still FAR advanced than anything else and the best part is it is not packaged in those horrid plastic bags, it is fresh...
We have pizzas every Friday night, now that's another task I have not achieved.....LOL
Love, Amanda

I bought a bread making cookery book, and have just started making oat and honey bread, really delicious.
I make the bread using the Kenwood Chef with a dough hook.

I love honey bread, it is divine. Bread making fascinates me. I use this site quite a bit; http://glutenfreemommy.c...d-millet-oatmeal-bread/
But I find GF bread a challenge plus I dislike all the additional ingredients... Love, Amanda

Amanda - you should be able to get all your gluten free stuff on prescription.
Barbara - could you please let me have your recipe for bread in the bread maker as mine always tastes too yeasty. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but obviously something is amiss!!
Love to you

You're probably right, Amanda. Our friend Dave has a three month prescription and I thought he got all his gf stuff on them but could be wrong. Jxxx
